CALLING ALL GIRLS- Help Take Back the Rosie Riveter Record!

On Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Willow Run, the girls will attempt to take back their World Record for the Most Rosie the Riveters in one place. (the Rockin Rosies of Richmond beat the Michigan (original) record of 776 Rosies by gathering 1,084 Rosies last August in Cali)

UPDATE: YOU DID IT, ROSIE!
2,096 women and girls dressed as Rosie the Riveter, from 16 states and Canada, including 43 Original Rosies from WWII, came together at the WILLOW RUN BOMBER PLANT to set a NEW WORLD RECORD!!!

Here is the schedule of events for Oct. 24:
The Official World Record photo will be taken at 2:00 pm at the Willow Run Bomber Plant.
Doors open at 10:00 am. Check-in tables close at 1:00pm. Fun activities and entertainment provided from opening time until photo Staging Call at 1:30pm. (Recommended to arrive by Noon or earlier to allow time for check-in procedures.)

The 1st weekend in October promises a really good time racing on the beach in New Jersey! Mel & his guys have put together an action packed weekend, full of pre-53 rods & vintage bikes all revvin' their guts out on the shoreline.

We can't wait!

Tod Stiles Rides Off on Rt-66

TV's wholesome, "boy next door", Martin Milner passed away yesterday at the ripe old age of 83. On "Route 66", Milner played opposite a Corvette convertible, as he & a buddy traveled across America for 4 seasons. The show documented social issues of the time & rode the popularity wave of America's love affair with cars.

Milner was born in Detroit in 1931 & his family moved to LA when he was a teenager. Milner's career started early when Jack Webb cast him into a Dragnet episode. Webb later cast him as the star of the popular Adam-12 police drama.

Ya did good, Detroiter! RIP
