FoMoCo Assembly Line Turns 100 Today
07 10 13 - 23:54October 7, 1913, the Ford Motor Company turned the switch on the world's 1st moving assembly line in their new Highland Park factory, just outside of Detroit. Ford's invention allowed workers to build a Model T from scratch in a mere 84 steps. This resulted in cutting production time down from 12 hours to around 90 minutes to build an entire car.
For those of us that frequent automotive factories, I say "thanks... I think".
